Eye contact is way more intimidate than words can ever be.

Yes, you have read it right. Eye contact can convey a wide range of messages and emotions, revealing how a person is feeling - whether they are confident, happy, sad, or scared. All these emotions can be seen in the eyes.

Eye contact is simply just looking at someone's eyes and maintaining contact for some seconds.

In the British TV Show Peaky Blinders  the Lead Actor Cillian Murphy played the role of Thomas Shelby, a fictional character who was a businessman and politician with a talent for handling people and pressure with his unpredictable body language. In this blog post, we will learn how to make eye contact like Thomas Shelby.

#Rule No.1 - Before talking make an Eye contact

When starting a conversation with someone, it's important to make eye contact with them first. This lets the other person know that you are paying attention to what they are saying. Additionally, a person can judge your level of awareness and confidence in the conversation by looking into your eyes.

#Rule No.2 - 3 to 5 Rule

Maintain eye contact for 3 to 5 seconds. When you break the contact, don't look down; instead, look to the side. When Thomas Shelby breaks eye contact, he looks to the side because looking down can convey that you are nervous or lacking confidence in the situation.

This is the only scene where he looks down and doesn't maintain eye contact, as he was in intense pain and didn't want his opponents to know. But even then, he tried to look confident.

#Rule No.3 - Avoid Rapid movement of eyeballs

When maintaining eye contact with someone, avoid moving your eyeballs quickly, as it can convey nervousness, anxiety, or confusion. Instead, move your eyeballs slowly, as this conveys a serious and more aware demeanor in the situation.

#Rule No.4 - Use Eye contact to earn Trust

Thomas Shelby is an amazing listener. When he wants to gain people's trust, he directly stares into their eyes to show them how confident and engaged he is in the present conversation. This helps him to crack deals with challenging individuals like Billy Kimber and Alfie Solomons, who can be difficult to negotiate with.

#Rule No.5 - The Intense Gaze

When he wants to intimidate his opponents, he doesn't blink his eyes. He just stares at his enemy without any expressions on his face. He uses this technique to show his strength and dominance over them. However, it's better not to use this technique to intimidate others. Instead, you may use it to show your strength and make others realize how confident you are.
